to live peaceably and fairly OR to die or be maimed in a crusade

WHY LET OTHERS DEFINE YOUR TERMS?

IF YOU HAVE A MESSAGE, PUT IT OUT THERE.

DO NOT LET YOURSELF BE MARGINALIZED BY ANYONE WHOSE AGENDA APPENDS YOUR MESSAGE AS A MERE ADDENDUM.

SAY YOUR PIECE!

FOR EXAMPLE, THIS MESSAGE:

"IT MAY WELL BE MORE IMPORTANT TO LIVE PEACEABLY AND FAIRLY WITH YOUR FELLOW MAN, THAN TO DIE OR TO BE MAIMED IN A CRUSADE."

I agree entirely. Did you read any part of Harold Pinter's speech, the one he just gave while receiving the Nobel prize for literature?

I have to say I agree with him.

It is such an odd thing to be at odds with your own country. I find, however, that there are so many people who share my views.

There are tens of millions of compassionate, thoughtful, reasonable and sane people.

It is the government, the power brokers who run things and our pathetic media that lulls and brainwashes us into being passive consumers instead of thinkers and doers (hopefully compassionate doers.)

Our foreign policy is conscionable and our domestic policies callous.

What a stand for peace, for art, for intelligence we could make with our wealth, our inventiveness, our optimism.

So much of our talents and energies are squandered and deliberately diluted and diverted from our true purpose for living, which is alleviating suffering and spreading authentic joy.

Anyway, thanks for your comment which allowed me to check out your blog and look through a tiny window on your thoughts and world and, yes, heart.

Hey Chuck

This is John. Keep up the posting.

Happy Holidays or is it holidaze.

And does Merry Christmas really mean to be merry (party, have fun, be merry) at all the events this season instead of some christian meaning?

Hi there,

Thanks for dropping by and leaving an encouraging note about working out. I forget that I DO feel good after working out... it's GETTING there that's difficult!

BTW... I wish I could really swim (I think what I do is called FLOATING!).

Best --
